Built on the apiary
Mudarikwa Beekeepers grew from a conviction that thoughtful beekeeping — done with patience and respect — produces better honey, healthier colonies, and stronger communities.
Where the work began
Mudarikwa Beekeepers started the way most lasting ventures do — not with a business plan, but with a problem worth solving. We watched colonies decline on farms that relied on them, saw families call pest control for bees that simply needed a new home, and noticed how much good honey was being lost to practices that prioritised speed over colony health.
Over time, what began as seasonal hive work expanded into a full service practice: apiary setup for growers new to the craft, monitoring programs for established keepers, and a small retail operation that lets the quality of the work speak through the product.
Today we run hives, respond to removal calls, train new beekeepers, and pack honey under a single principle — the colony matters more than the yield from any single season.
Three principles behind every decision
From how we inspect hives to how we label jars, these ideas stay constant regardless of the season or the scale of the job.
Colony first
Every decision starts with the health of the colony. We do not harvest what the hive cannot spare, and we do not remove what we can safely relocate.
Honest work
We operate with the same transparency on-site that we aim for in the jar. You know what went into every product and every service call.
Practical knowledge
Decades of field experience go into our recommendations. We share what we know because better-informed clients make better decisions for their hives.
